HIs father and the Lannisters sacked the city and much to the Mad Kings angriness, he commanded Jaime to kill his father and cut his head off. He also told the Pyromancer to burn the city down and the people so instead of following that order, he killed the Pyromancer first and stabbed the Mad King and cut his throat.
